Should Yesudas be allowed into Guruvayur Temple
There is a big hue and cry by some politicians about Guruvayur temple authority's consideration to allow Yesudas entry into the temple. I strongly feel that Yesudas should be allowed to enter the temple. He is a good human being and a true devotee. His love for the God is very evident in the songs he has rendered in praise of the God. His passion and emotions touch the hearts of one and all. Yesudas is being denied entry only because he was born Christian. Is that his fault? I consider him more pure than many Hindus and [Brahmins] who eat meat, beef, drink liquor and lead an immoral life. They get to enter the temple just because they were born Hindus. What an irony!!!!! Isnt it time we became more rational in our thoughts and actions.

Every temple has its own rituals and traditions. This is the result of the magnificent culture of Hinduism, which is based on the principle live-and-let-live. A temple has to decide for itself whether new rituals have to be introduced or old ones discontinued. Similarly, whether precedents have to be set under changing circumstances. Such decisions have to be taken by the temple and its devotees in a considered manner. There should not be any pressure from those not directly connected with the temple to force it to act in a particular way. In short, the whole issue is between the temple and Yesudas. The Minister, a communist, suggested entry of Yesudas into the temple probably only to later on facilitate Muslims and Christians to take up jobs in the temple. While I personally would be happy to have Yesudas in Guruvayoor Temple, I hope the temple authorities reject the Minister's suggestion just to spite the proclaimed anti-Hindu Minister. In any case, Yesudas has said he does not want to create a controversy. Great Yesudas and ugly communist minister!
