Godmen are a kind of Psychotherapists
In India, there are so many Godmen with a lot offollowers from all religions. There are manyfollowers of a Godman who regard him as God. They saythat like God, these Godmen are omnipotent,omnipresent, omniscient, etc. Some of the Godmen asper their followers can bring a dead person back tolife or materialise something out of nothing so thatthey can produce sweets (ladoos) out of an emptybasket. They can cure all illnesses. Now, if theseGodmen can produce everything out of nothing why donot they take empty baskets to the drought hit areasof Africa and produce ladoos out of those baskets sothat all the starving people could have their fill anddo not die of hunger? They could also heal all thepersons that they come in touch with but I understandthat some of these Godmen have built hospitals wherethey employ doctors to get the people cured. If theseGodmen are all knowing like God, then they should beable to speak all the languages on earth and must beknowing everything about universe including how manyelements are there in the universe and how manycompounds and mixtures could be created from theseelements. However, I find that Godmen speak either intheir own language or one or two of other languagesand do not know about all the sciences on earth likephysics, chemistry, mathematics, etc. nor can theyremove poverty, corruption, diseases, global warmingetc. They also cannot provide safe drinking water toeveryone and also water for irrigation or can theyproduce rains so that the farmers get enough crops tolive on.Then why people worship these Godmen who also fomentsectarian and communal troubles which cause loss oflife and property etc? I asked a colleague of mineand he told me that he is a follower of certain Godmanbecause he has progressed materially ever since hecame in contact with that Godman. Another follower ofa Godman was more frank. He said that he is followinghis Guru (Godman) because his father was also doingso. A more knowledgeable friend stated that theseGodmen are like Psychiatrists or Psychotherapists whoheal the mind and since many physical diseases werealso related to mind, they heal these diseases also. He also stated that like people change doctors if theyare not cured by the latter, devotees also many timeschange their Godmen.So, these Godmen may be able to cure certain diseasesrelating to mind or certain psychosomatic diseases,they are definitely not God and people should becomeaware of this and do not indulge in sectarian orcommunal riots because of the absurd acts of theseGodmen when they try to prove that they are gods andcommit some acts of sacrilege.

When you say "godmen" are not God because godmen cannot "remove poverty, corruption, diseases, global warming etc.", would you also say that since poverty, corruption, diseases etc. exist in the world, there is no God?
