Religion is opium
This is what disguised criminals turned dera-gurus, saints assume. Religion is opium!
Religion is meant to purify one's soul. And the reverse is happening in deras.
They teach all 'good things' and they dont follow their own sermons. They collect money, become powerful and do whatever they like to.
They are just keeping their followers under opium like intoxication with their spellbound lectures.

In India, where freedom of religion is axiomatic, it will not do good to run down all deras and castigate all gurus. Bring specific charges against specific deras or gurus and set the law after them. Let us know that all institutions are manned by man and men have their failures. Let us cherish the best of their teachings and sift the black sheep.
