Vajpayee the silent Arjun Singh
We are blaming Arjunsingh for reservation muddle. We are conveniently forgetting the part played by Vajpayee granting OBC status to Jats to get their votes. Again BJP promised Gujjars to include them in the ST category to get their votes but failed to keep up the promise. So now they are stewing in the juice they prepared.When it comes to reservations and votes all politicians behave in the same manner without exceptions.

I am a supporter of the BJP because of my RSS background. But somewhere along the line BJP has also felt the need to play caste politics. At least the BJP should not have done it because it was meant to reflect the RSS ideology, which wants to unite the Hindus on the basis of nationalism and not divide the Hindus on the basis of caste. The logic may be, when in business you have to have a profit if you are to continue, likewise in politics you have to win elections if you are to continue, never mind the means. I think we need to have army rule to wipe out the legacy of our bloody politicians. But, alas, I am too much of a democrat to risk losing democracy thereby. Let us live and learn.
