Present Condition of our Sikhism
True Sikhism Vanished

Sikh religion ‘is’ or now we can say ‘was’ the great gift by respected Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. I have used ‘was’ because true Sikhism has vanished in last week on the roads of Punjab. It is the pious preaching of tenth Guru that Sikhs or Singhs are named for those who protect the needy and downtrodden helpless people. But today the situation is totally opposite. Some corrupt minds are disobeying the preaching of tenth Guru Ji and making Sikhism meaningless. It is written on most pages of Sri Guru Granth Sahib that to use abusing words for any religious Saint is strictly prohibited. But the anti-social elements who claim themselves to be the Sikhs have crossed all the limits in breaking the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib. Use of abusing words, spreading violence and hatred, delivering inflammatory speeches, disturbing the peace of country and so on are now their jobs. I also belong to Sikh family and whatever is done in the last week by disobedient followers of tenth Guru proves that true spirit of Sikhism has vanished.

The Sikhs appear to be going the Muslim path of religious exclusivism. Well meaning Sikhs must steer the community back to its liberal Hindu roots or else the great Sikh religious and cultural tradition will be reduced to just a sect.I am a Hindu and therefore I also consider myself a Sikh.
