Gurgaon or ET ?

Gurgaon or ET ?
Famous district of Haryana, Gurgaon is just near to Capital of India i.e. Delhi. Occupied by DLF as plum residential area, by Maruti , Honda etc big companies as factory site , by almost all MNCs as ideal venue of call-centres , Gurgaon is gaining importance day by day . Because of such potential and suitability , it has been declared part of National Capital Region ( NCR ) too. Latest heartening news is that now Metro train will also cover upto Sohna Chowk in Gurgaon.

But the name Gurgaon suggests that it's a village or backward area . Its actual name is GURUgaon as Mahabharat's Eklavya worshipped Guru Dronacharya here . To give the town modern look, may we request the authorities that let its name be changed to "ET" or EKLAVYA TOWN !!! It will also, in a way, compensate to some extent the injustice meted to him by Dronacharya or history !

The information that Gurgaon is connected to Dronacharya and Eklavya gives a distinct hallowness to that place. Let the ancient fame of the place spread anew and let Eklavya's guru-bhakti inspire Gurgaonites in the pursuit of excellence so that rather than being residents of a mere industrial boom-town, they become catalysts in the creation of many such excellence-centres all over India. We must remember, though Eklavya lost his right thumb, such was his guru-bhakti that he went on to perfect his archery with his left hand. So much so that at the time of the Kurukshetra war, having vowed to fight for the King, he may have tilted the war in favour of the Kauravas. But that was not to be. Krishna killed him before the war itself. To be killed by Krishna was of course a blessing and the one and only Ekalavya thereby attained moksha.
