Jesus, Julius Ceasar, Sita

Sunday, November 12, 2006
JESUS, JULIUS CAESAR, SITA
Jesus was only a preacher when he died.He said that the King was not the ultimate Ruler. He gathered a small flock; That enraged the rulers. They crucified him. They saidListen to us or you will be declared a traitor. The traitor for the rulers became a Messiah.Julius Caesar was vilified by Antony and Brutus. He was killed and the public approved the killingAs they were already brainwashed. Our own Sita was vilified by a dhobi.Ram chose Ayodhya andAbandoned his pregnant wife.If Ram really loved his wife and followed the vowsTaken during marriageHe would have abandoned AyodhyaAnd accompanied his Sita.Ram never cared for riches or for Ayodhya. He even redeemed Ahalya, the so called sinner.Ram's behaviour may be due to some other reasons. Dhobi's words might have introduced a seed of doubt. Or he might have been angry with Sita for being alive in Sri Lanka for such a long time instead of giving up her life. Sita suffered for no fault of hers. In case of Draupadi except for Yudhistir, all her other husbands supported her. Yudhistir losing his wife in a gamble is not very becoming of a future King. I think Bhim loved Draupadi with a great passion. Our mythology provides a lot of food for thought. In the case of Julius Caesar, his own friends joined together to eleminate him. If friends behave like this, how can we have faith in friendship? Betrayal by friends is not a new thing. Even in workplace you can see this. Become a boss by getting promotion, all your friends turn into your enemies You will get noncooperation and they make it difficult for you to run the office. Ultimately they turn you into a monster and then they tell you that you have become arrogant and unreachable.Jesus Christ rebelled against the rulers. He did it when there was no democracy. It is not surprising that the rulers reacted the way they did. But if historians are to be believed it is one of his followers who betrayed him, namely Judas. All these cases show that we are betrayed by our own people most of the times for one reason or the other.

There was an advertisement in the Times of India showing the pictures of several Gods. One Christian Archdiocese of Delhi wrote to the TOI the next day saying the ad was in bad taste. He says that it somehow militates against "our fundamental belief. First of all neither Budha nor Mahavir, nor indeed GuruNanak claimed to be gods. And placing Jesus Christ among the many gods is a naive understanding of who Jesus was." I thought Jesus was only an ordinary man during his life time. He only wanted to change the ways of the Jews in those olden days, for which he was crucified. Any comments?
das kapital Sunday, November 12, 2006 4:58:08 PM
Jesus was a messenger of God....this can be verified in the original hebrew version of the bible...Jesus never claimed to be God..he just proclaimed God's commandments to the jews just like the previous prophets...Any person who has father or mother or children or wives etc cannot be God...it applies to everyone individual irrespective of religion whether Rama, Krishna, Muhammed, Jesus, Moses, Guru Nanak, Buddha, Mahavir or whoever it may..the Creator is something unique and cannot be comprehended in whatsoever form or manner...all these great personalities were messengers or people with higher level of communication with the Lord....All the religious scriptures of every religion says the same thing about the Almighty...No images, no parents, no children, no wives...Only humans are indebted to someother thing in the universe...God is beyond all comprehension...
justreason7 Sunday, November 12, 2006 5:02:45 PM
Peekay,You have raised a valid point. The illiterate, less literate are attracted only if there is something extraordinary or out of the common. Even the highly educated fall into this. How Saibaba is turned into a miracle worker by all and sundry?Socrates and some others were great thinkers. Fortunately they were not turned into gods.
Badmash Sunday, November 12, 2006 5:27:51 PM
Blah Blah blah and blah...why blha blah like this blah blah and blah OK BLAH!!
Badmash Sunday, November 12, 2006 7:14:35 PM
sorry yaar I just am trying to sabotage your blog to promote Anil Joshi. You are a fantastic blogger. I love and admire you.
Peekay Sunday, November 12, 2006 9:29:22 PM
The point is, why is the ad in bad taste? Yes, all those names mentioned had powers more than the ordinary mortal. And everyone agrees that God is someone or something which is beyond description or comprehension. That is what the Vedasand Upanishads also say. What is so offensive in the ad? I think it has to do with the superiority complex of the Christian. The Hindu has no problem in worshopping any of the manifestations including a monkey or a bear or Allah or Jesus.

anilbhai, I never hated you. I was pained that you joined the vicious campaign against me. I retaliated because I am human. I hate the hatred. You are only incidental.Sorry for my remarks.
justreason7 Monday, November 13, 2006 12:27:35 PM
These are not my words.Love begets Love.Hatred begets hatred. My words.Sometimes Love begets hatred. Thus poor Love gets crucified.A mole of a misunderstandingBecomes a mountain of hatred. That mountain tries to crushThe poor, pure Love.

Rama loved Sita. Otherwise he would not have gone through so much trouble to get her back. Rama was never in doubt about Sita's chastity. That is why he had Sita go through the Agni Pariksha, which forever invalidated the dhobi's doubt.
