Thursday, December 14, 2006 Hindus Humiliation in TN for Non Tamilian-Periyar A statute of EV Ramaswamy Naicker, an atheist, has been installed in front of the Rajagopuram in Srirangam, Trichy Dist., Tamil Nadu, inspite of vehement protests by Hindus. Hindus who demonstrated against the installation of the statute in front of the temple, in a democratic way, are being harassed by the TN govt. False cases are being foisted against them. Even the reverend Dharmacharya, Swami Dayanand Saraswathi, President, Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha, is not spared. His name was mentioned in the FIR, which was later withdrawn.While the Government is harassing the Hindus by legal means, the DK barbarians are attacking temples, mutts and Vedapatshalas at random. On 8th Dec. 2006, a gang hurled a petrol bomb at Ayodhya Mandapam, a temple in West Mambalam, Chennai (Ref. New Indian Express, 9th Dec.). In Villupuram, an idol of Lord Ganesha was found damaged inside a temple at Sanakarapuram. Hindus, Temple Priests and vendors sitting in front of temples are being attacked. In many places sacred threads and tufts of Priests and students of Vedapadashalas are cut by the DK barbarians. But the government of TN is taking a lenient view of the entire episode.Also, volunteers of the Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam, a splinter group of the Dravidar Kazhagam, have cut the sacred threads of four Brahmins, besides assaulting them at Ramnagar area, near Salem on 7th Dec. 2006. In short, the human rights of Hindus in TN is violated. Hindus are being insulted, by the installation of an atheists' statute in front of a grand and ancient temple. This has to be strongly condemned by all those who are interested in Human Rights and freedom of worship. Though Jayalalitha was more corrupt and autocratic, she had an iron hand towards such trouble mongers. Can anyone install such a statue in front of a famous mosque or church? Try as they did, they have not been able to uproot Hinduism even in their areas of influence. They certainly have nuisance value. Hindus should go on a Ganapati installation and aarati spree to counter DK's mischief.
