SECULARISM IN INDIA
On December 14th 2006 a seminar was organized in Delhi in which the victims of Gujarat riots expressed their feelings. Speaking on the occasion Dionne Bunsha (The writer of the book “Scarred: Experiments with Violence in Gujarat.”
Said a majority of affected Muslims are forced to live in dirty localities in the outskirts of the cities. Where there are no municipal facilities available. She said she has just returned from Gujarat where there is no improvement in the conditions of Muslim refugees.
At the seminar a victim of Gujarat riots told that he belongs to the district of hawagad, four years ago when Gujarat riots broke out he was taken to a Police station and then later on he and his family was shifted to a refugee camp. Now he wants to return to his village but the village panchayat doesn’t want him and his family to come back because he is a Muslim.
Now I would like to ask
Why Muslims in Gujarat are treated as second class citizens.
Why the Gujarat govt is not doing anything to help Muslims to come back to their homes.
Why Muslims are forced to live in unhygienic and dirty refugee camps in spite of having their own homes
Why Muslims are forced to live where there is no basic amenities and municipal facilities available.
This is a serious issue and if there is anybody who wants to make a fun of this matter is nothing other than insane

We are a flawed democracy and "Majority" is always right syndrome has made us oblivious to the plight of the "hapless Children of Republic of India" who are scattered across the Country. Muslims are either exploited as a vote bank or looked down upon with suspicion. The community definitely needs help not only in Gujarat but other parts of the Country as well. We need to spend tons of money in creating quality basic education infrastructure for the community and create an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.

OF COURSE IF WHAT IS WRITTEN IS TRUE IT CERTAINLY IS A SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS. IF THE ENTIRE MUSLIM COMMUNITY IS VICTIMISED IN GUJARAT THEN THE GOVT IS AT FAULT.HOWEVER IT SHOULD BE NOTED HERE THAT IT IS NOT ONLY MUSLIMS WHO ARE SUFFERING THIS INEQUALITY OF SERVICES BUT THE OTHER SILENTLY SUFFERING MINORITY ARE THE HINDU PANDITS OF KASHMIR WHO HAD TO FLEE THEIR VERY ANCIENT HOME STATE, OLDER THAN ISLAM, BECAUSE OF KNOWN REASONS.CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY HAS NO OTHER WORDS. SUFFERRERS ARE THOSE UNFORTUNATE VICTIMS.

the is legacy of the partition. No muslims should have stayed back. That would have been good ofor both the communities

The Muslims who stayed back in India are patriotic that is why they did not go to Pakistan. And this amount of patriotism was not there in Advaniji who fled from Pakistan.

No, you are not right, sir. Who says MUSLIMS are less patriotic than the HINDUS. PLEASE DO NOT GET AGITATED ON EVERY AGGRESSIVE REMARK. When you choose to write on such a sensitive issues--people will throw barbs at you. Accept them, for, you chose to put your hand in the "WASP's WEB". By the way you have no other subject, sir.

If the Muslims in Gujarat are in dire straits, that's because of Godhra. But what crime have the Kashmiri Pandits commited?
