Pandits and Gujarathi Muslims

Sunday, December 17, 2006 PANDITS & GUJARATHI MUSLIMS RECENTLY THERE HAS BEEN A SPATE OF ARTICLES WRITTEN ABOUT THE SUFFERING OF THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY AND THE APATHY FACED BY THEM IN THE STATE OF GUJARAT POST GODHRA RIOTS. IF THERE IS TRUTH IN THAT CERTAINLY IT IS A SHAMEFUL EPISODE PERPETUATED BY THE LOCAL GOVT. HOWEVER IT SHOULD BE NOTED HERE THAT IT IS NOT ONLY MUSLIMS WHO ARE SUFFERING THIS INEQUALITY OF SERVICES BUT THE OTHER SILENTLY SUFFERING MINORITY ARE THE HINDU PANDITS OF KASHMIR WHO HAD TO FLEE THEIR VERY ANCIENT HOME STATE , OLDER THAN ISLAM , BECAUSE OF KNOWN REASONS. CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY HAS NO OTHER WORDS . SUFFERRERS ARE THOSE UNFORTUNATE VICTIMS. SADLY THERE ARE NOT MANY FROM THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY WHO ARE SPEAKING UP ON BEHALF OF PANDITS OF KASHMIR. BUT THERE ARE SOME SANE HINDU VOICES WHO ARE PROTESTING ABOUT THE SUFFERINGS OF MUSLIMS IN GUJARAT. WHY THIS BIAS ? . LET ME ASK THEM TO REPLY TO THIS QUERY OF MINE . IF THERE IS AN EQUAL SENTIMENT TOWARDS THE SUFFERING OF THESE INNOCENT VICTIMS FROM BOTH THE SIDES , LET THE VOICES BE HEARD. At least the pundits were not burnt alive by their neighbours. It started with the Mohammad Ghoris and Mohammad Ghaznis invading India. Then the unending attacks on Hindu religion, culture and people. When the British came and equations changed, the Muslims thought up of partition. Millions were killed as a consequence. Now we have Kashmir. Hindus have only defended themselves. But Muslims are still bent on aggression in India though they are a minority because of the support they get from the secular brigade, who appease the Muslims so intensely that the Muslims have a bloated sense of power. Let the Hindus not be challenged to repeat Gujarat.
