In reply to Venugopal to rewriting constitution
Yes but for the intervention of supreme court and its active intervention things wopuld have become real chaotic. Our politicalleadership including the honourable speaker of Lok sabha has not minced words while making statements to media of the Judicial intervention and role of judiciary. Why this kind of intolerance towards judiciary.W/osnnslyding the reasons the politicians as a group been blaming the judiciary for upholding the fundamental rights. The fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution is not to be fiddled around.Agree with you with changing time some of the laws which were enacted during british times have to bereworded/rephrased.But they have stood the test of time.Whats happening today is that laws enacted and passed by parliment are not able to pass scrutiny of judiciary.Thats the weakness. They infringe upon the fundamental rights.Hence my article

Dear Radhakrishnan, Politicians’ first loyalty, unfortunately, is to their narrow constituencies because they depend on them for vote and without vote they are finished. They do not have any security of profession to work for national interests without worrying about voters’ narrow interests. On the other hand the judiciary is loyal to the constitution as they are not dependent on anything extraneous for their survival as professionals. The solution may be to hand over the governance to the IAS and other cadres as they also have the security of profession. Or to the Army. However, we are democracy, which means that power is ultimately in the hands of the people. We need to have representatives who would rule as per our wishes and if they are not up to the mark, we have the right to sack them and bring in new lot. Whatever its shortcomings, there is no alternative to democracy, particularly in a country with such diversity as nowhere else. We have to formulate a new paradigm of politics where professional security of politicians is taken care of. We need to have some loud thinking on this.
