Quran book of Signs not Science
First of all I would like to tell that Quran is not a book of Science and Technology.
It has not been revealed to help scientific researches. It is book of signs not Science.
It is guidance to mankind. Quran is a Warner and give glad tidings to the believers.
But in some portions it contains some scientific facts and these are all presented as signs by Allah for mankind so as to bring faith on his book and his messenger.
As Infidel M said I quote:
Can any believer of quran as allah’s word list the things that are awaiting to be discovered by modern science? Anything that is not yet known in modern science and technology.
I am providing below few verses from Quran to tell that Quran has so many things that scientist haven’t discovered yet why it is so or why it will happen, remember these verses were revealed 1400 years ago. And I am confident that by reading this also he will stick to his own stand.
Chapter 81 of Quran states
Verse 1) YUSUFALI: When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; PICKTHAL: When the sun is overthrown,
Verse 2) YUSUFALI: When the stars fall, losing their lustre; PICKTHAL: And when the stars fall,
Verse 3) YUSUFALI: When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); PICKTHAL: And when the hills are moved,
Verse 5) YUSUFALI: When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); PICKTHAL: And when the wild beasts are herded together,
Verse 6) YUSUFALI: When the oceans boil over with a swell; PICKTHAL: And when the seas rise, SHAKIR : And when the seas are set on fire,
Chapter 82
Verse 1) YUSUFALI: When the Sky is cleft asunder; PICKTHAL: When the heaven is cleft asunder,
Verse 2) YUSUFALI: When the Stars are scattered; PICKTHAL: When the planets are dispersed,
Verse 3) YUSUFALI: When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; PICKTHAL: When the seas are poured forth,
Verse 4) YUSUFALI: When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; PICKTHAL: When the seas are poured forth,
Chapter 84
Verse 1) YUSUFALI: When the sky is rent asunder, PICKTHAL: When the heaven is split asunder
Verse 2) YUSUFALI: And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- PICKTHAL: And attentive to her Lord in fear,
Verse 3) YUSUFALI: And when the earth is flattened out, PICKTHAL: And when the earth is spread out
Chapter 75
Verse 3) YUSUFALI: Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? PICKTHAL: Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones?
Verse 4) YUSUFALI: Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. PICKTHAL: Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers!
Verse 8) YUSUFALI: And the moon is buried in darkness. PICKTHAL: And the moon is eclipsed
Verse 9) YUSUFALI: And the sun and moon are joined together,- PICKTHAL: And sun and moon are united,

Surah Fussilat, Chapter No. 41, Verse No. 53 which says.. Soon we shall show them our signs in the furthest regions of the horizons and into their soul until it is clear to them, that this is the truth (Here the word is farthest horizons)Surah Baqarah, Ch. No. 2, Verse No. 23 and 24, Surah Yunus, Ch. No. 10, Verse No. 38Surah Hud, Ch. No. 11, Verse No. 13Surah Sajdah, Ch. No. 32, Verse No. 1 to 3Surah Isra, Ch. No. 17, Verse No. 88In Surah Shura, Ch. No. 42 V. No. 29, it says that...‘Allah (swt) has created the heavens and the earth, and has put creatures between them.’ That means, the Qur’an says that…‘There are living creatures besides this world.’ • Science has not reached that far, to prove that there is life besides this earth. Scientists are sending rockets and satellites and spaceships, to try and prove there is life on Mars, etc. It is not established • they say… ‘There are high chances.’ But the Qur’an says…‘There is life besides this earth’ • and I believe in it.Surah Anbiya, Chapter 21, Verse 107 “We sent thee not, but as a mercy for all creatures.”Surah Saba, Chapter 34, Verse 28“We have not sent thee but as a universal (Messenger) to men, giving them glad tidings, and warning them (against sin), but most men understand not.”

Dear All Believers (all religions),FIRST OF ALL, PLEASE UNDERSTAND WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF SCIENCE. Please understand one thing, human being is a creature with faculty of thoughts, analysis and reasoning. Since ages 'human' has wondered at the natural phenomena and tried to give one reason or the other. If a thought came to someone's mind, it doesnt make him the 'scientist' until he proves it by some tangible evidence. Till that time that will remain only a 'hypothesis'. So, whosoever claims that 'our prophet(s) or our sages were very advanced in the field of science,is trying to create a 'fools' paradise' for himself. This is the commone human weakness to glorify his past and then take pride in that. Those WISE MEN deserved the credit for at least putting forward a thought- a hypothesis. But claiming that they were of the 'ultimate' or 'final' wisdom for the whole universe, is 'STRETCHING THE FAITH TOO FAR'. They were relevant in 'their' time and era, that is why their name became immortal. But dont try to implement those values or 'orders'now, without checking their compatibility with this era. Over the centuries, 'human civilization' has undergone several changes. Accordingly, the codes of conduct have undergone changes with time. From the era of 'supermacy of the orders/desires of someone', the times have changed to 'supermacy of human values' which are in the common interest of HUMAN BEINGS.So, take pride in 'THE BOOK' (whatever religion)but not blindly.MAY THE 'CREATOR' GIVE WISDOM TO ALL.

Dear Lesson Learner, It is acceptable when you say that the Quran is guidance to mankind. The problem arises when you insist that it is the only guidance to mankind.

K.Venugopal Friday, January 12, 2007 9:58:56 PM Dear Muslim friends, No one is questioning the greatness of God. If the Quran records His greatness, so does all other scriptures from the Vedas down. The question is, what do we do with ourselves? What is our potential? The Muslims believe that being loyal foot-soilders of Allah is enough. Hinduism believes we have to discover the divinity within us. This is the basic difference between Islam and Hinduism. To this comment of Venugopal i have comment this one mentioned below.Venugopal, Divinity is only in God. and if any one who claim divinity apart from Allah is big sinner. To follow Allah command as a slave is what is required from you by Allah.Allah has mentioned in the Quran that "The humans and Jinns are created for the purpose of worshipping me" The ones who claimed divinity is Sri satya sai baba.he is treated as God.and this is Unlawful in Islam.and its a sin which is unpardonable in Islam.

Venugopal, We believe that if one follows Quran completely he or she doesn't need any other text for guidance. The Quran is whole some. It embodies everything. Once a person embrace Islam he is guided in every field and every thing of him is taken care of. The need to search for something doesn't arises. A person who has embraced Islam is not restricted to look in to other books, but should not follow the things which goes against the basic tenets of Islam. Like for example Yoga, and Ayurvedas. These things Muslims can follow. Because it is not against the basic tenets of Islam, it is a form of exercise and medical science which helps one in maintaining good health.

It is indeed interesting to hear different view points without some people using slang ! A comment on Lotus- If we adapt to modern times -then 3 parent family-Lesbian & Gay marriages-Nudism, Pornography and All such views will have to be accepted .That is why Islamic Laws have not changed for 1400 years-though views have changed !

What an irony, Learner, you are allowed to follow Yoga and Ayurveda but must not sing Vande Mataram. Incidentally, Yoga is meant to discover the divinity within us and Ayurveda is a science revealed by Lord Brahma.

Dear Venu,You know a lot I know, and I am sure In future you will come to Islam, because the way you research, the more you research the more you will come to Islam-The Religon of God

Venugopal, Yoga is an exercise and can be done by any body. And it includes some postures, and doesn't need to chant anything. As far as Ayurveda is concerned it a medical science like allopathic or homeopathy. So not a big deal to learn and benefit from it. May be it is revealed by Lord Brahma.
