Rewriting constitution for whom, for what end?
When in the First place none of our leaders have any respect for the constitution, why bother about rewriting the constitution. When their perspnal interests are affected does any of our political leaders abide by the constitution. Our parlimentarians enact laws, which because they are framed doesnot stand legal scrutiny and the judiciary if forced to frown upon the laws and are forced to uphold judiciary.Right from the time of Indira gandhi to today the politicians are not a happy group. When questioned about the fundamental rights guranteed in our constutions. And would like to send it to recycle bin.Since its not suiting their style of functioning. Its all observed more in breach.Daily when you open the news paper you only come across incidents of violations of laws of the land. UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES WHY modify the constitution to suit your needs.Indtead have a jungle raj.Where might is right. Why call it a democracy, when its a sham.Call it Mobocracy.First Mobocracy in the world and a great one at it.

By and large our Supreme Court is doing a good job spelling out with clarity the provisions of our Constitution and protecting its spirit without compromise. Mr. Radhakrishnan, you are being unfair. We are still a democratic and rule-of-law nation. Politicians are a selfish lot, but not all. There are many who are dedicated and upright. Our constitution cannot be a static document. It must also reflect the spirit of the times and therefore it needs to be amended as and when required. Only our core values of secularism and freedom should ever be cherished and not be allowed to be upturned.

Yes Mr.Venugopal,I agree that judiciary has been doing an excellent job under adverse conditions.Without realising that they are doing wrong our politicians and bureacrats in their misguided enthuiasism to uplift those who are backward both economicaly and socialy try to do an injustice on those who have nothing to do with it in the first place.Without disturbing the fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution they are finding it more and difficult to bring in Changes. How can you say that fundamental rights guranteed int the constitution be disturbed because it suits changing times/trends.Fundamental rights were arrived after great delibrations amongst the best of legal minds of the country and has stood the test of time. There is no question of amending them.Yes I agree our core values of secularism and freedom of individual should be respected and cherished. There is no arguments over that
