Dye another day
To do or not to do.The decision to start dying ones hair is quite a difficult proposition,if one seriously sits down and thinks. The first and the foremost question is when to start dyeing? The first appearance of grey hair is like playing hide and seek game between the individual and his tuft of hair.Sometimes he sees it and then it disappears. He looks at the mirror every day,may be for combing or may be to reaffirm that he is actually handsome inspite of what others may say.As his own face is very much known to him and that is imprinted already in the mind so his observation starts becoming casual. He does not even notice that he is becoming older. When some one, he has not met for a long time comments about his change of appearance then he starts becoming conscious about the change.By the time he starts looking closer at himself ,those grey hair which sometimes appear to be there and also not there become reality because without giving him notice his own treacherous hair has cospired to turn grey at random places of his skull. When he goes to the barber then that fellow too one day points out that his hair has started greying, does he require only shampooing after haircut or dyeing .He does not decide that day,he still feels it is a trick by the barber to tax him more.He goes back home looks at the mirror curses it and then starts cozying up with the guys who have aleady started dyeing and our guy has been making fun of them.
So,the guy is the last one to know about mass scale greying of his hair. But now if he takes the decision to dye then he can fool the unknown people but his known people know it better. Then he starts repenting that he could have started dyeing much earlier,he could have been more careful in observing the changes occurring on his own damn feature instead of making comments about others.
The above thought process came to me when I had gone to get my hair trimmed in the neighbourhood saloon. There I found that out of available 6 chairs 4 were occupied by fellows getting their hair dyed and thus fighting a loosing battle with ageing. All works were done on their hair, they were hibernating with closed eyes, possibly they were trying to project their faces with black hair in their mental mirror. The faces were grim with determination...kind of jamane ko dikhana hai attitude,a defiant one, then I realised that it was 30th Dec so all these blackening is done for painting the town red in new year eve that was next day.
